Planting Soil Calculator
When preparing planting beds for annuals, perennials or shrubs, experts recommend amending Georgia's clay soil by tilling in a layer of organic matter such as our Landscape Mix.
Use this calculator to estimate how much Landscape Mix you'll need to enrich your existing soil, or how much top soil you'll need to fill a specific area. The calculations are based on typical coverage of 100 sq. ft./cubic yard, 3" deep.
Enter the approximate length and width of the area, then the desired depth of the soil you want to add, then click Calculate.
Planting Shrubs in Individual Holes
When planting shrubs in individual holes, you will need approximately 1 cubic foot of soil to fill the planting hole for a 5-gallon shrub. The larger the root ball, the more soil you will need per hole.
